Next Level Interior Design

The interior of the E-Class embodies the synthesis of emotion and intelligence. This wide-screen cockpit contains a large display with virtual instruments in the direct field of vision of the driver as well as a central display above the centre console. The driver can choose between three different styles to select their preferred look for the wide-screen instrument cluster: “Classic”, “Sport” and “Progressive”. As the entire cockpit is fully digital, the driver is free to configure the information and views of relevance for them and thus create their own personal cockpit.

The E-Class is the first in its segment to have Touch Controls strategically located on the steering wheel. Like a smartphone interface, they respond precisely to horizontal and vertical swiping movements, allowing the driver to control the entire infotainment system using finger swipes without having to take their hands off the steering wheel, thereby ensuring minimum driver distraction. The steering wheel is luxuriously elegant in its black Nappa leather.

Further controls for the infotainment system are provided in the shape of a Touchpad with Controller in the centre console, which can even recognize handwriting. There are also direct-access buttons for controlling functions such as the air-conditioning system.

 

First-Class Seats

Next-generation driving assistance systems

Mercedes-Benz’s new assistance and safety systems enhance safety, comfort and driver assistance to new levels.

Active Brake Assist is fitted as standard. It is able to warn the driver of impending collisions, provide optimum support with emergency braking and if necessary also autonomously apply the brakes. In addition to slower-moving, stopping or stationary vehicles, it can also detect pedestrians crossing the danger zone ahead of the vehicle.

Likewise included as standard are ATTENTION ASSIST with adjustable sensitivity, which can warn the driver of inattentiveness and drowsiness; and ACTIVE PARKING ASSIST with reverse camera, which makes parking convenient, safe and effortless.

 

Robust yet lightweight body shell

An outstandingly stiff body forms the basis for exceptional handling, astonishingly low noise and vibration levels, and a high level of crash safety. To achieve this, the engineers opted for a body shell with a far higher proportion of aluminium and ultra-high-strength steel components than its predecessor. The front wings, bonnet, boot lid, and large sections of the front and rear ends are made of sheet or cast aluminium. This lightweight design reduces fuel consumption and makes for tangibly sporty and agile vehicle handling.

 

Against the wind

Aerodynamic performance is one of the major reasons behind the outstanding efficiency of the E-Class. Here the E-Class raises the benchmark with a record-breaking drag coefficient (Cd value) of 0.23. The Philippine digital premiere of the new Mercedes-Benz GLA happens today via Facebook Live. The new GLA is the eighth model to join the line-up and rounds off the current Modular Front Architecture (MFA) from Mercedes-Benz. At the same time, it represents the entry-level into Mercedes-Benz successful family of SUV models.

Sporty from every perspective

The sharpened SUV character and expressive design underscore the new GLA’s claim to setting the standard in its class. More than a commanding view of the road ahead, the new second-generation GLA offers a rewarding view of what’s next.

As a compact SUV, it fits in nearly any open space and yet has room for your entire life. The character has been significantly reinforced compared with the previous model. The height of the new GLA, at 1611 millimetres (1616 with roof rails), exceeds that of its predecessor by more than ten centimetres.

Within a more nimble length, the new GLA gives you more space to ride, more room to shop, stow and be spontaneous. The seating position for both the driver and the front passenger is higher and more upright than in the predecessor model, and thus more typical of an SUV.

The new GLA offers a more spacious interior with seats that are incredibly comfortable. The rear seat backrest is 40:20:40 split, with each section folding down individually. This allows better space management for cargo loading and gives passengers a more configurable seating position for greater overall comfort.

Comfortable loading is also seen with a low boot sill. Its luggage compartment height can be adjusted in 2 stages, thanks to a continuous luggage compartment floor console, it enables even better use of the available space.

 

MBUX: a new era of connectivity

Enjoying the solitude and sharing it with everyone at the same time is possible with modern connectivity services. It is equipped with Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). The MBUX multimedia system comes with a 7-inch instrument and media display and has its own intelligent voice assistant, which is activated with the code word “Hey Mercedes”.

Smartphones can be connected as Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto are standard, and the system supports the major applications and selected apps including navigation.

Another highlight is the comprehensive touch operation concept–the combination of a touchscreen, touchpad on the centre console and touch control buttons in the steering wheel. In addition to the intuitive operating experience, less driver distraction is another advantage.

It also has the ECO Start/Stop system that automatically shuts off the engine when you’re at stoplights or idling. This system helps save on fuel and reduces emissions. Once you lift your foot off the brake, the engine starts back up immediately. However, if you don’t want to use this feature, you can easily disable it.

It marks the 8^th model in the German luxury automaker’s success story of MFA (Modular Front Architecture), combining all the best factors from the former models, and becoming the first 7-seater in the Mercedes-Benz compact car family.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLB is the most versatile compact SUV available in the Philippine market. It is an ideal car that can take you to new places and make old favourite roads feel fresh. It can take up to six of your friends for a road trip on a weekend or enjoy it for a drive around the metro for your “me-time”. And wherever you take it, it will do more than you expect to make every mile memorable.

Everything under control, even off the road. At the press of a button, DYNAMIC SELECT offers different drive programs with setting options for the engine, transmission, chassis and steering.
